You might have faced this problem sometimes in your pc eventhough other websites opening without any issues. Its because svchost.exe get infected with virus. See the below tips to solve the issue..
 
Solution 1: Install Trojan Remover and scan your system in safe mode..You can download Trojan remover from here or from http://www.simplysup.com/tremover/download.html and do a scan in safe mode. You will get a virus named svchost.exe and delete it..
 
You can also a scanning using any good antivirus software.We have solved this problem with the scaning of  microsoft one care , vipre antivirus, symanted endpoing security etc..
 
Solution 2: Stop DNS Client Service
 
Step 1 : Go to Start -> Run and type services.msc
 
Step 2 : Select DNS Client on the right side and Right click on it and Click STOP
 
 
Then you will see the process happening
 
 
Once the process is finished you can EXIT the services and access Microsoft websites.
