Error Code: 0x80040507 - Preventing Login
You might have seen this error :Some system Files are missing or damaged. You cannot log on at this tinme. Please use your installation CD to reinstall or repair Windows. Error Code: 0x80040507
And It will prevent you from logging in.Even if you login it will revert to log off..
Here is the solution for this:
Step 1: Go to any other system in the same network and access the C Drive of the affected system. You can do it by typing the IP of the affected system in RUN (eg: If the IP is 192.168.x.x , go to start ->Run and 192.168.x.xc$ , sometimes you will have to give admin user name and password of the affected system)
Step2: Search for wpa.dbl file in Windows/System32
Step3: Once you get the file wpa.dbl, just rename it to wpa.old
Step 4: Refresh C Drive and go the affected system and try login
Step 5: It will ask you for Windows activation.You can do it over internet or by telephone
Done!!!
- If its Stand alon PC and not connected with any network
Step 1: Reboot your System and F8 before the manufacture logo displays and safe mode
Step 2: Login as administrator and go to the C drive
Step 3: Search for wpa.dbl file in Windows/System32
Step 4: Once you get the file wpa.dbl, just rename it to wpa.old
Step 5: Restart your PC and it will ask for windows activation... Do the windows activation as usual..
